Bight's Environmental Application Accepted

Bight Petroleum (“Bight”) is very pleased to announce that on June 6, 2014 the Lightning 3D Marine Seismic Survey (Bight Basin) Environmental Plan (“EP”) was accepted under the Commonwealth Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Environment) Regulations 2009 (“Environment Regulations”).   Bight's application was lodged under the new streamlined system which was set out by the Federal Government on March 1, 2014.  A summary of the EP will be available in accordance with the regulations (including on this website).

Amendments To The Environment Regulations

February 28, 2014 - The Environment Regulations have recently been amended to support the regulatory streamlining of petroleum activities in Commonwealth waters, effective 28 February 2014.  

Bight Petroleum Pty Ltd, having not yet received approval under the old system, has decided to withdraw its EPBC Act Referral 2013/6770, to enable the Company to apply for approval under the new amended regulations.
